Yesterday while I was perusing Facebook I came across a post that made me smile; then laugh out loud. It was referring to a Polish saying regarding staying out of drama and chaos created by others. The brilliant saying was, "Not my circus. Not my monkeys".
I have a sense I'm going to be repeating this a time or two.
Occasionally, those of us who are here to serve get pulled into drama created by others because of our desire to be of service. But there are times when we must use our discernment to know if our intervention is appropriate.
Of course, if someone is asking for our help we must do what we can.
But if someone is intent on creating chaos in their own life and is trying to pull you into it, it might be time to step away.
And to help you disengage simply say to yourself, "Not my circus. Not my monkeys."
I challenge you to say it without smiling ;-)
