Five days a week I walk with my dear friend Vivian. Every day is an adventure. Since we begin our journeys at 7:00am we get to experience the world before it is fully awake. So, quite often we have the sidewalk and the beauty of Nature to ourselves.
We've shared many sunrises in the Spring and Fall, the beauty of Summer flowers and many star-lit journeys during Winter. You would think we would run out of things to talk about but we don't.
Many times I've been told by friends that they beeped while driving by but Vivian and I were too engrossed in our conversation to notice. Others have said that either one or both of us have our hands flailing about when we're discussing something interesting. I'm not surprised by this because my husband has remarked on occasion that if someone tied my hands behind I back I would lose the ability to speak. There are times, though, when we are rendered speechless. This morning was such a time. We were walking and talking when I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I stopped and realized that Vivian had seen it, as well. We got to witness the glory of an eagle in flight. We watched in silent reverence while this beautiful creature glided by and then disappeared from our sight. Then we expressed our gratitude for the experience.
We are truly blessed :-)
